Update from March 22, 2025 on Missing Coptic Girl, Amany Ashraf Zarif Samuel

Newly received information revealed that Amany’s stay in the Hilal Street apartment was brief and transitional after her disappearance – the apartment was the home of a radical Muslim teacher and located only 100 meters away from her school. Following a brief stay in this apartment, Amany was moved to Cairo. Several months later, in late December 2024, she was taken to Saudi Arabia.

This teacher whose apartment was used to hold Amany was also responsible for the WhatsApp group that was used to target her from the age of sixteen. The strategy was for a group of Muslim girls to befriend Amany and cause her to start questioning her faith. The next step was to introduce her to a young Muslim man, (a Jihadi Romeo) who is the nephew of radical Sheikh, Khaled Mohamed El-Azhari, who runs an Islamization network. This “Romeo” owned a fashion jewelry kiosk near the school that Amany attended, and he used it to target Christian girls.

Across from the kiosk was a Jellabiya (Muslim woman’s gown) store owned by a man called Arabi Abdel-Hakim who also happens to be a member of Sheikh Khaled Mohamed El-Azhari’s network. Abdel-Hakim is married to the Sheikh’s sister, who also happens to be the Jihadi Romeo’s Mother. This family was responsible for the forced Islamization and the forced marriage of Amany to the Jihadi Romeo in the form of Orfi marriage.

A travel agency, Walid Tours, which specializes in Hajj and Umrah trips, was used to traffic Amany to Saudi Arabia where she faces the risk of being commercially trafficked.
