N.Y.-Based Egyptian-American Activist Ayat Oraby Calls For Economic Boycott Of Copts: In Segment She Titles ‘Boycott The Christians Economically,’  Says Crescent Must Always Be Atop Cross

In a video posted on her Facebook page on September 21, New York-based Egyptian-American activist Ayat Oraby called the Coptic church “a gang, striving to establish a Coptic mini-state,” and “a full-fledged mafia,” and described Pope Tawadros as “a criminal.” Oraby called upon Muslims to participate in an economic boycott of Copts, saying that: “They must be made to understand that the crescent must be on top of the cross.”

screenshot1Ayat Oraby: “As you can see, the title of today’s episode is: ‘Boycott the Christians economically.'”
[…] “The Church is continuing its sectarian mobilization, in order to hold a reception here in N.Y. for the apostate (Al-Sisi), the coup’s drill sergeant. I saw them yesterday when I went to the United Nations. Let me ask you this: What makes people living a pleasant life here in America, in a democratic country that knows no military coups, support a backward military coup?”
[…] “What makes people who live in a democracy, enjoying all these rights, support a criminal arch-killer, except for their hatred of Islam?”

screenshot2“These people have a problem – their subordination to the Coptic church. This church constitutes a gang, striving to establish a Coptic mini-state. It has shared common interests with the military for a long time.”
[…] “Egypt is ostensibly ruled by the military, but the church gang rules from behind the scenes – or at least shares the rule. That’s why the military controls all lands throughout the country, as well as all the economic interests, and the church gang is next in line. The church has huge desert lands around their monasteries. They run economic projects that equal those of a small country. It’s a full-fledged mafia, which nobody knows about. This mafia and its economic activity is exempt from paying taxes. They are not subject to any supervision whatsoever. That’s not all. The churches store weapons.”

“The problem of the Christians in Egypt is that they follow the church gang. They believe that (Coptic Pope) Tawadros the criminal, or any other criminal who will replace him, was selected by the Lord and speaks on His behalf. The church gang deceives its followers in this despicable way, just like a thief or a swindler from the Middle Ages.”

“Even more dangerous is the fact that the church gang is using its followers in its war against Islam. It uses them to exert pressure on the Muslims.”

“This is the reason for the call for an economic boycott against them. To tell you the truth, I have been postponing this call for a long time, but now I am asking for all the Muslims who are zealous for their religion to heed this call.”
[…] “Look for a Muslim alternative. Don’t take money from your pocket to pay for someone who gives one-tenth of his income to the church gang, so that they will establish a Coptic mini-state, stick out their tongues at the Muslims, and verbally abuse Islam.”

“They must be made to understand that the crescent must be on top of the cross. It is inconceivable that 4.5 million Christians will control 86 million Muslims.”

I am deeply saddened by the bombings in Egypt targeting the Coptic minority. The truth is that the Copts are living in an apartheid state. This reminds me of white-supremacists who constantly blame everything on Jews. I wish Muslim communities around the world would spend as much time condemning this as they do Islamophobia.

The fact that she lives in the United States and has a popular twitter account is gut wrenching.
