By Coptic Solidarity –

A New Victim of Islamization gangs in Egypt. Her name is Mariam Medhat Ramzy Labib, Age: 26. She holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and was working at Bait Al-Izz stores in Hurghada.

According to one social media post, she called her parents on May 25, to let them know she was coming home after finishing her training courses. However, while on her way home, her parents suddenly received a text message from her — not a phone call, as was usual — saying that she was “gone for good” and asking them not to search for her. Immediately after sending that message, her phone went out of service.

She disappeared on May 25, 2025. A certificate of conversion to Islam is dated on the same day as her disappearance, which exposes the sordid cooperation between these gangs and the extremist Islamic clerics in Al-Azhar.

An individual complicit in this crime is Karim Fouad, the owner of Bait Al-Izz stores—and a graduate of Al-Azhar University. Apparently, Mariam had a part-time job at that store, to help support herself.

Mariam was apparently lured into a romantic relationship then extorted. Her choices, as usual, were: either convert to Islam or face shame. Since she belongs to a conservative family from Sohag, she feared the family and societal shame, and succumbed to the pressure of converting to Islam.

The perpetrators of the crime are said to be members of an Islamist gang in Hurghada, which includes owner of Bait Al-Izz stores Karim Fouad and others.

Mariam’s parents are devastated and pleading for her return.

In a recent post, her family says:

Let no one think that we’ll believe their cheap theatrics, or that we’ll be afraid or shaken.
Those who kidnapped our daughter are far too weak to change the truth or erase our memory.
Mariam is not for sale — not her faith, not her family, nor her upbringing and roots.
Anyone who thinks we’ll forget or back down is delusional.
We will not give up our rights, we will not stay silent — we will speak out and act, in every way, every day, until we reach her and know the truth with our own eyes.
Mariam, until you return to our embrace, we are your voice, and your safety is a trust we carry.
And to all those who took part in your abduction — your reckoning is coming, no matter how long it takes.

Coptic Solidarity appeals to the head of Egypt’s National Security Agency and the Minister of Interior to return the girl to her family and to swiftly arrest the perpetrators. Sexual extortion is a crime, and it is a disgrace for the Egyptian state not to combat these crimes.

Furthermore, from a humanitarian perspective, the golden rule should be our guiding principle: “What we would never tolerate for ourselves, we must not tolerate for others.” We trust that any respectable official or honorable Muslim would not accept extortion if it were to happen to his family member. We appeal to President Sisi’s morals to not allow such crimes to spread in Egypt.

A final appeal is for the victim Mariam:

From experience, we can assure you that the vile criminal who are exploiting you cannot publish any indecent photos or videos of you because that constitutes a crime. Do not be afraid and try to escape. Your family is devastated and are waiting for your return… As the Lord Jesus Christ said, ‘Let him who is without sin among you cast the first stone.’ So do not be afraid, for your family and your church are all longing and waiting for your return.

Note: We will not accept any video of the girl emerging under pressure and extortion declaring her conversion to Islam, as this dirty game is part of the crime.
