Maggie Mo’men, 10, has become the youngest victim of the Cairo Cathedral terrorist attack after dying of her wounds on Tuesday morning, announced the Coptic Church.

Maggie, who is the 27th victim, died in hospital after sustaining life threatening injuries from the suicide bomb attack. According to hospital officials, Maggie was seriously wounded in the head and has been in a coma since the attack.

The 10-year-old had gone to the church where the attack took place with her family. Her mother, Nermine, survived the attack but suffered several injuries. Her sister, Mira, was outside the church during the attack and was not wounded.

Maggie was in the fourth grade at Ramsees Girls College. According to family members, Maggie played volleyball and enjoyed ballet dancing and acting. Maggie’s funeral will be held today at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Cairo.

The Cairo Cathedral terrorist attack, carried out by a suicide bomber, is the deadliest attack against civilians in Egypt in recent years. The majority of those killed and injured were women and children.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the deadly attack after Egyptian authorities arrested a number of people accused of involvement.
