The Helwan Misdemeanor Appeals Court has ruled to reject the appeal filed by the defense team for the defendants involved in the demolition of the 15 May City Church wall. The court upheld the decision to continue the detention of 13 defendants for 15 days pending further investigation.

The defense panel asserted before the remand judge, during the review of the detention order, that the demolition order issued by the 15 May City Authority was marred by a gross procedural invalidity. They argued that the church and its representatives were never officially notified of the decision prior to its execution, which constitutes a violation of legal provisions and the mandatory procedures to be followed.
