Cairo’s daily al-Maqal, whose editor is the prominent Ibrahim Issa, dedicated the front page of its Monday issue to make succinct bullets, addressed indirectly to the country’s political leadership, following Palm Sunday’s massacre of Copts in Tanta and Alexandria:

– We apologize to Christ.

– Egypt’s Copts on the Cross of pain.

– We need no more statements of condemnation; we need justice!

– Please stop for a moment of reflection before justifications, repeating old speeches and traditional measures.

– Do not leave preachers of extremism and hatred spread their venom, then appear surprised to see terrorist attacks!

– Those keeping silent at the sermons and fatwas of walaa and baraa (loyalty to Allah and rejection of infidels), are colluding – with premeditation – in the killing of Copts!
