According to Dalia Ziyada, director of the Egyptian Center for the Study of Free Democracies, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry recently met with leading members of the banned Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and he covers up such meetings with controversial Egyptians who have political agendas by referring to them as members of “civil society.”

On August third, during the live television program “Dear Citizen” Ziyada insisted that Kerry met with the sons and sister of leading Muslim Brotherhood member Salah Sultan Muhammad prior to his visit to Egypt:  “And when even Americans criticized him for this, Kerry informed them that he met them as representatives of Egypt’s civil society.”
