Ahmed Abdel-Moniem Abdel-Salam (25 years) asked the Coptic child Kirollos Yousef Kilada to buy him a pack of cigarettes. When the child came to the house, Salam bound and gagged him using medical adhesive tape. He left him alone in the house until sunset. When he returned to the house, he found that the child died. He then threw the child in a sink to conceal his body. He deceived the family of the child, asking them to pay him 100,000 EGP as ransom. After negotiations, he accepted to reduce the ransom to 30,000 EGP, and asked them to pay the money through a mediator.
The criminal obtained the money, but did not return the child, which caused the Coptic family to file a complaint. The security forces managed to arrest the mediator, who acknowledged the incident and informed the authorities about the location of the child. The defendant accompanied the security forces to his house on Tuesday. He opened the sink and found the body of the child.
