When Ayman and his son tried to escape, people in the vehicles fired shots towards Ayman’s car, damaging his tires and forcing him to stop.
Ayad said four people carrying firearms then got off the vehicles, stole 500 EGP from Ayman and muzzled his son. They then put Andrew in one of the vehicles and escaped.
Ayad added he received a call from an anonymous number, asking him to pay 750,000 EGP in exchange for the release of the child.
The child’s family has filed a police report on the incident.
