The Social Care Committee of the Egyptian Journalists’ Syndicate has officially launched a Quran memorization competition for members and their families. The event is held under the prestigious patronage of His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.
Mohamed El-Garhy, Syndicate Vice-President and head of the organizing committee, announced that this year’s edition introduces significant updates to participation rules. For the first time, spouses and parents are eligible to compete alongside journalists and their children. Additionally, a new “Quranic Family Prize” has been established to foster collective family participation and spiritual growth.

Examinations will be supervised by a specialized committee from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, led by Dr. Abu Al-Yazid Salama, Director General of Quranic Affairs. The competition features five categories, ranging from three parts (one-tenth) to the full memorization of the Holy Quran. Registration was open online until Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The Syndicate expressed its profound gratitude to the Grand Imam, the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House, and the “Sout Al-Azhar” newspaper for their continued support in organizing this significant community and religious event.
