I am asking Egyptian officials to ensure that places of worship are kept safe. I trust that the perpetrators of this appalling act will be apprehended, brought to justice and will bear the full weight of the law.
I offer my prayers for the family and friends of those who have lost their lives. I also pray for the speedy recovery of all those who have been injured.
As the Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of the Copts, I will continue to monitor the situation in Egypt.
